In case you were curious...

What are the Science Alliance's Future Plans?

The Science Alliance has been enormously successful in its first two years of implementation! Where will we take that success?

With our current Green Energy curriculum, each year we strive to:

  • Improve the accessibilty and student learning opportunities from our current curriculum.

  • Involve more college students from a variety of majors and backgrounds as volunteers.

  • Evaluate our program through quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • Reach a total of 12 classrooms and 4 community events per year (including all Northfield 4th grade classrooms).

  • Continue to develop assessment activities to assess our efficacy and guide program development.

Long-term goals the Science Alliance may pursue:

  • Expansion

    • Create valuable partnerships between colleges (or high schools) and their communities by helping them adopt the Science Alliance Meaningful Outreach Model!

    • Tackle other curriculum topics that science teachers find difficult to address through hands-on activities.

  • Dissemination of materials and curriculum

    • Rent-out curriculum to school districts to use within their school for a period of time.

    • Contract our inventor Professor Muth to continue making these unique materials for sale on our website (for free, if funded by a grant!)

  • Develop a summer institute for teachers to enhance their knowledge of integrating and developing hands-on STEM activities relevant for the classroom.

  • Turn Science Alliance into a non-profit, reaching many more schools and communities.

  • FUNDING... We couldn't do any of our work without funding for our project. We are applying to grants to support our work.
